Contact your Legislators

Published in Volunteer Resources on March 22, 2020 by Allen Wegele

There are a number of volunteer activities that can contribute to our mission as a passed state to "Build an engaged army of self-governing grassroots activists” This document will help you to know how to conduct one of those activities namely “Influencing your state legislators to support the Convention of States”. The first step is to determine who your legislators are. In Arizona each of thirty legislative districts has one Senator and two Representatives. To find out who they are you need to know what district you are in. To find your district and/or to determine who your legislators are use the following link Find my legislator. Having done that the next step is to decide how to contact them. Their office can be reached by phone, by email, sometimes by text, and always by regular mail. The most powerful way to influence them is by handwritten letter. They seldom receive handwritten letters and therefore they pay attention to them knowing that one of their constituents took the time to do so.
