THANK YOU...YOU ARE READY FOR ASSIGNMENT!
- Contact your assigned trainer or the State Grassroots Coordinator, to make move you into the FollowUp Team member (FUT member) role. This assignment must be made before you will have access to STEP 3.
Step 3: Post Assignment and State Specific Training
Now it's time to take your FUT Courses:
FUT 100 Welcoming New Supporters (36 minutes)
COS 300 Convention of States Culture (57 minutes)
LG 100 COS Legal Training for our non profit/non partisan organization (22 minutes)
This training does not need to be done all at once. If you feel overwhelmed by this information, break it up and do one or two sections at a time.
If you need help with working through any of the sections, contact your District Captain or the State Grassroots Coordinator.
Access Citizen Builder on the COS website by signing in and then hitting your profile picture and hitting the Dashboard button. You will have access to Citizen Builder once you have been fully vetted and onboarded as an FUT.
- Finding Citizen Builder and the Followup Tool
- NOTE: In the above training use the Colorado specific email template "CO-CO Welcome" rather than the suggested national email template "US-US-National Thank You"
- Watch Introduction to Citizen Builder
You can run through your No Volunteer Interest follow Ups first, since they are simpler to process and complete. Followups with Volunteer Interest will require further contacts and will move to your "in progress" queue. If no response to multiple attempts at contact via email/phone/text...then complete within a two week time period.
You will be working with your District and Regional Captain as well as our State Grassroots Coordinator. They also do followups and you will be a supportive team player to help process petition signers and potential volunteers.
If you are able to get a response from one of your Follow Ups saying that they're interested in volunteering, be sure to escalate their profile to their DC, RC or SGC.
Introduction to the COS Action App for Android or iPhone:
Log your work in the COS Action App Action Reports. Keeping record of your work will help keep you organized and allow for review of past work.

Weekly Responsibilities as a Follow Up Team Member
You should be logging on to Citizen Builder and checking the Follow Up Tool several times a week. Make it a habit to check FUTs 4 times a week and complete your followups in a timely manner. This will be the key to a successful grassroots effort that prevents overflow and protects Patriots, who admirably sign up, from being neglected.
Check your email account regularly. This is the default email account that you signed up with as a volunteer and is tied to your @cosaction.com address. Also, check your junk/phishing folder as regularly as you check your inbox. You will avoid missing follow up replies if you always do this.
If you want to keep up with statewide information, and even better, get to know the volunteers in your state and the state leaders, you are encouraged to attend our Statewide Meeting every first and third Monday of each month. Reach out to the State Grassroots Coordinator to attend these online meetings.
COS uses Slack to easily communicate and pass on information to Team Members. Read the tutorial on how to download Slack and watch the video:

You learned how to do it all - now put it to action!
Feel free to return to this training to refresh your memory and access resource links.
