You are cordially invited to attend the National Day of Prayer gathering and celebration in Kingston, Massachusetts, on Thursday, May 2.
The event, which is being hosted in part by Convention of States Foundation (COSF), will take place at Sacred Heart School in Kingston from 4:00-6:30 p.m. ET. The school is located at 399 Bishops Highway in Kingston. There is no cost to attend, and you can register here if you plan to attend.
This year's National Day of Prayer theme -- "LIFT UP THE WORD/LIGHT UP THE WORLD" -- is derived from 2 Samuel 22: 29-31.
Toni Shuppe, Patriot Academy regional director and Constitution coach, will be a featured speaker at the event and deliver her testimony.
Convention of States Action (COSA) regional director and Massachusetts state co-director Michael Arnold, who also serves as a deacon at nearby Chiltonville Congregational Church, will offer a prayer. Several local faith leaders are also scheduled to speak and offer their prayers and testimonies.
COSA co-founder and president Mark Meckler underscored the significance of the event.
"The National Day of Prayer is very important," he said, "because the nation needs to return to regular prayer. It is a reminder that the nation was founded by families who believed in God, and God's hand in its founding and protection. It must remain so if we are to prosper in the future."
Kingston is only a few miles from the very ground where the document that would become known as the Mayflower Compact was signed on November 11,1620.
The event promises an afternoon of reverence, reaffirmation, and rededication to the words in 2 Samuel 22 and the Mayflower Compact the latter of which reads in part:
"Having undertaken for the Glory of God and advancement of the Christian faith...do by these presents solemnly and mutually in the presence of God and of one another, combine ourselves in a civic Body Politick, for our better Ordering and Preservation, and Furtherance of the Ends aforesaid; And by Virtue hereof to enact, constitute, and frame, such just and equal Laws, Ordinances, Acts, Constitutions, and Offices, from time to time as shall be thought most meet and convenient for the General good of the Colony, unto which we promise all due Submission and Obedience."
Again, there is no admittance fee for this event. If you plan to attend, please RSVP here.
