Wisconsin Rep. Rob Stafsholt wasn't initially supportive of the Convention of States effort. He feared a "runaway convention," but those fears were soon put to rest by the facts -- and by what will happen if we fail to call a Convention of States.
"I was against this resolution at first because I don't think the Constitution should be altered easily," he said on the House floor. "But I did some research... and I found out a few things. Our state can set things up and send our delegates there. We can set the rules and the parameters on what our delegates can and can't do. There are checks and balances."
"Our country is in debt trillions of dollars," he continued. "It doesn't get any better. It goes up every single second of every minute of every day. And that scares the heck out of me when I think about my daughter, and it should scare all of you."
