I completely understand that Congress has NOTHING to do with the states applying for a Convention of States, but Article V does give Congress a couple of ministerial tasks to perform once the states get to the 2/3 application requirement.
The country is falling apart with the leftist agenda. It is important to know where your congressional delegation is on a solution to the problem. Hopefully they do not put all their faith in Congress to right the ship and support the states using Article V of the Constitution to propose further limits on federal power and eliminating federal government usurpation of their enumerated powers.
With that being the case, it is good to discuss Convention of States with your Congressmen and U.S. Senators.
Here is what we know right now in Kansas for our congressional delegation:
Congress
District 1: Tracey Mann - Official endorser of Convention of States click for statement from Rep. Mann.
District 2: Jake LaTurner - co-sponsor in 2015 of SCR1603 to add Kansas to the Convention of States effort, but never had the chance to vote in favor. No current position is known.
District 3: Sharice Davids - No public statement
District 4: Ron Estes - No public statement, but in private has been opposed to the states calling a Convention of States.
United States Senate
Senior Kansas Senator Jerry Moran - No public statement
Junior Kansas Senator Roger Marshall - No public statement, but in private has been supportive of the states joining the effort for a Convention of States.
This is where you come in. During the summer/fall our congressional delegation will be back in Kansas attending town halls and maybe even campaigning. Please discuss Convention of States with them, and please encourage them to go on record in support of Convention of States.
