Top five reasons we should elect dead people to Congress

Published in Blog on March 29, 2018 by Bill Parks

In my humble opinion, we should elect dead people to Congress. God only knows enough of them already vote, especially in Cook County, Illinois, and just about every county in California, so why not let them run for office?

Dead people certainly couldn’t do any worse than the “live” members of Congress currently serving their constituents. And it sure wouldn’t change how much Congress would get accomplished because Congress never accomplishes anything, anyway.

There is certainly a precedent for dead people serving in Congress. I mean, just look at Nancy Pelosi. She might not be legally dead, but if you listen to the things that come out of her mouth these days there is no doubt in my mind that she is brain dead.

And based upon some of the statements he's made lately Chuck Schumer isn’t too far behind. But then I sometimes wonder if he ever had a brain, so it might be a stretch to call him brain dead.  I'm sure there are plenty of other exampes I could use (John McCain, Mitch McConnel, Maxine Waters . . .) but why beat a dead horse.

And think of all the benefits that would come with electing dead people.

  1. We wouldn’t be stuck with all of the bad legislation Congress currently manages to pass.
  2. No more free franking privileges.
  3. We wouldn’t have to pay them a salary.
  4. They wouldn’t need their own health care system, or any health care system for that matter.
  5. When they retire, they wouldn’t collect their full salary, indexed for inflation, for the rest of their lives because they're already dead.

Just think how much money we could save every year. It might almost be enough to retire the national debt!

Or maybe not, but it’s still a lot of money.

When you really stop and think about it, electing dead people to Congress would probably be the smartest thing we could do. But for some reason, I doubt that we could ever make that happen - probably something to do with corpus electi or some other legal mumbo jumbo.

However, there is another option that could help us fix a lot of the same problems and issues, and all we have to do is get "live" people to support it. It’s called a Convention of States and it gives the people the means to rein Congress in by passing constitutional amendments that limit the abuses of power currently enjoyed by Congress.

Join me and thousands of other living, breathing people in supporting a Convention of States. It just may be our last, best hope.
