In what scenario would Congress vote to limit its power or restrict the number of terms they could serve?
Why would the President move to outlaw executive orders or shrink the size and power of his executive agencies?
Will the next Supreme Court decision revoke their ability to legislate from the bench and dictate policy to all 50 states?
Everyone knows the answers to these questions. None of the three official branches of the federal government (or the unofficial deep state) will ever do anything to limit their own power.
That's precisely why the Founders included the Convention of States option in Article V of the Constitution. They knew Congress would never propose the amendments we need to restrict the out-of-control federal government, so they gave the states a way to circumvent Congress and propose their own amendments.
As Vicky Ostry explained to a Wisconsin legislative committee, the Founders knew what they were doing when they empowered the states with this awesome responsibility.
"Did the Founders make a mistake in the second options of Article V when they placed their trust in you?" she asked her state legislators. "I don't think so. You are one of us. You were elected by us to represent Wisconsinites, tens of thousands of whom signed our petition."
As Vicky said, we don't have much time left to use the Article V process to limit federal power.
"We have a nation to fix, and we're running out of time. Our freedoms... they're all at stake, and we can't afford to waffle. We must act, and we must act now," she concluded.
