On May 4th, the Convention of States team in El Paso set up a booth at the San Jacinto Plaza for the Mariachi Loco Festival. Supporters from all five House districts helped man the booth.
With lovely weather and many other booths at the city event, the turn-out was great. Even in “blue” territory, there were lots of people interested in signing our petition and learning more about Convention of States.
There were even a few who said “I already signed it!” People enjoyed having their picture taken in the COS picture frame made for those who signed the petition.
The El Paso team had a Spanish/English bilingual brochure made up especially for this event. Based on the number of brochures that were distributed, there is great interest among the Spanish-speaking community in restricting the overreach of the federal government using Article V!
Events like this help us get the word out about the importance of getting our government under control through fiscal responsibility, term limits, and reducing the power of unelected bureaucrats.
