The Mission, the means, and the many

Published in Blog on May 25, 2020 by Joan McDermott

Brett Sterley, State Director of Convention of States Missouri, at Seymour High School in September 2019.

The Mission

To build the largest and most active group of citizen activists that the world has ever seen for the purpose of restoring the balance of power in America. Whether it be local, state, or federal, all levels of government are in need of repair.

The Means

Information and education are the tools we need to begin repairs. The Convention of States Missouri team is committed to providing our supporters with these tools.

Every Monday morning, COS Missouri State Director Brett Sterle provides us with an update on current events. This is sent by email or text to supporters who have chosen to receive these communication methods.

The COS Missouri newsletter is a monthly recap of past events and news about upcoming events and projects. It is sent by email late in the month. Many of the articles are also available on the Blog section of the national website.

We ask that you share this email with five people each month. They do not have to live in Missouri. It might spark an interest in learning about COS in their own states.

Do you have 20 minutes to spare? Need a quick refresher course about the Convention of States? Click here, and you shall learn!

Remember to use the share buttons at the bottom of the page and be the voice of COS.

Ready for a deep dive? COS University has online courses for both volunteers and supporters, free of charge. You will need to confirm your email account here.

The COS Missouri website is your source for many useful links in your journey to becoming an engaged, effective citizen. Please bookmark and share this page. The information is updated regularly.

In keeping with our commitment to spread the word about Convention of States we now have a podcast available on Apple Podcast, Google Play, and Spotify. We will be interviewing liberty-minded people from all walks of life. Subscribe to be notified of the latest interviews here.

The Many

That's you and your future descendants!

You are the reason the volunteers at COS do what we do. But we cannot do it alone. You have contacts and opportunities for spreading the word about COS which are not available to us. We have to be the media, because the traditional media is no longer for We the People.

How can you help?

  • Be the eyes and ears of COS Missouri. Let us know of current events in your local community and about people who are making a difference with their actions.
  • Read the U.S. Constitution at least once a year.
  • Be the source of relevant and current information through social media. Communicate with family and friends about the way we can restore the balance of power in America.
  • Sign up for your legislators' newsletters (links to find same are available of the COS Missouri website).
  • Contact your legislators on a regular basis and treat them as you would want to be treated. Their office staff will probably be your first contact, and they get yelled at regularly. Be polite but let them know how you feel about pending legislation.
  • If you are on social media, spread the word about COS.
  • Consider joining the COS Missouri team. We will train you, mentor you, and give you the tools to be an effective citizen. All we ask is that you commit to working for the freedom that so many have died to protect. Sign up on our Take Action Page.
  • Do you know someone who might be interested in our national internship program?
  • When you receive a Call To Action request from COS Missouri, please consider acting on it. We recently succeeded in influencing the demise of a proposal that would have allowed local non-elected officials to declare pandemic emergencies. Missourians spoke up, and they listened.
