Tis the season of gift giving.
Some of us are better at it than others. Who doesn’t envy that person who has their entire Christmas shopping list procured before Thanksgiving, beautifully wrapped and neatly tucked in a spare closet?
Then there are those of us who scamper about shopping for that last minute gift not even knowing for sure what it is they are seeking and frantically wrap as guests are pulling in the driveway. Hopefully, we all take time to take a deep breath and stop to remember why it is that we celebrate this season, the Gift that redeemed the world, God’s only Son.
The Convention of States Florida team would like to express gratitude for that much less tangible gift of time that so many of our volunteers have bestowed in dedication to this project. Through your skill, talent, and enthusiasm, your understanding and support for this endeavor continues to grow.
All this patriotic determination would never have been possible were it not for the leadership and clarity that our national team consistently provides. For that, we are also very grateful.
In this time of political and social divisiveness, where we seem to be constantly bombarded with stories of corruption, malfeasance and moral shortfall, we find that presenting the solution of the Article V process is so very often received as a refreshing gift of hope.
We are an organization whose main objective is not to rail against all that is negative but to offer a positive, proactive means by which to make this nation better. It is a process through which citizens who love this country can take tangible and achievable action that will directly influence those who can make lasting change for the better, our state legislators.
So when you’re out and about in the hustle and bustle of the holiday festivities, look for opportunities to share the gift that comes in the form of an opportunity to participate in the Article V Convention of States. When you’re in family or office gatherings and the conversation inevitiably turns to politics, present those willing to listen with this unique mission founded in hope.
Many historians have noted our Founding Fathers’ acknowledgement of God’s providence and guidance in the creation of that great document, the Constitution of the United States. We are grateful for the inspiration bestowed upon one Colonel George Mason as he proposed what became Article V.
It was his gift to his nation.
We now must be about sharing this gift of an Article V solution with others to receive and understand. In doing so, we can all work toward granting what it is that we truly want to bring forth in this process, a restored nation and the gift of liberty for many generations to come.
