Pre-Filing of the COS Resolution!
More than 350 Convention of States Texas Volunteers Gather on the Steps of the Capitol!
Texas State Representatives Rick Miller and Phil King, and Texas State Senator Brian Birdwell, pre-filed the Convention of States application, and the Faithful Delegate Act, on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at the Texas State Capitol in Austin.
Representative Miller and Senator Birdwell pre-filed resolutions HJR39 and SJR2, respectively, the Convention of States model application, calling for an Article V "Convention for Proposing Amendments", to Impose Fiscal Restraint, Limit the Power and Jurisdiction of the Federal Government, and to Limit the Terms of Office for Federal Officials and Members of Congress.
Representative King and Senator Birdwell pre-filed the Faithful Delegate Act, bills HB506 and SB21 respectively, which outline the Qualifications, Duties, and Limitations of Texas Delegates who Serve at an Article V Amending Convention.
