Convention of States volunteers in South Dakota launched a new activity to reach more people with booths at three South Dakota State Fairs.
The first booth is slated for August 17-25 at the South Dakota Central States Fair, where volunteers plan on recruiting petition signers and new leaders through this valuable outreach.
The Central States Fair is held annually and allows residents of Rapid City and surrounding areas to experience fair activities including the carnival, entertainment, and cattle and horse events.
“There is no better opportunity to meet my fellow South Dakotans than at the state fair,” said Shirlee Meier, Grassroots Coordinator for COS South Dakota. “It also is a way to build relationships with all our local volunteers who staff the booth.”
“Convention of States volunteers really like getting out and connecting with their neighbors—and a state fair is class Americana and a great way to spread the message of the COS movement.” stated David Schneider, Regional Director, Convention of States.
