Whatever one's stance on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, all liberty-loving Americans must agree that certain standards must be met to determine guilt or innocence.
One of those standards is the presumption of innocence. It's the bedrock of our judicial system, but our federal officials have thrown it away in the service of their political agenda.
In the video below, a sitting U.S. Senator refuses to acknowledge this foundational principle of American justice.
Sen. Hirono's statements are troubling, but even more troubling is the underlying reason federal officials seem willing to do anything to secure a seat on the Supreme Court.
The Courts have far exceeded their rightful power. Over the last 100 years, their decisions have dramatically affected every area of American life. Knowing this, our "leaders" in D.C. have turned our nation's capital into a circus in their attempts to control that seat of power.
The solution? Reduce the power of the Supreme Court.
How? An Article V Convention of States.
A Convention of States is called and controlled by the states and has the power to put SCOTUS back in its constitutional box. It can propose constitutional amendments that restore the principles of limited government and return decision-making authority to the states and the people.
