In order to more efficiently conduct legislative business, the North Carolina House of Representatives has not one, not two, but three judiciary committees.
That efficient approach will be on display as the House Judiciary 1 Committee is scheduled to take up the COS resolution and 34|Ready legislation during a public hearing on May 6, 2025, which begins at 1:00 p.m. ET.
You can watch the proceeding on COS LIVE by clicking below:
House Joint Resolution 379 is the Article V application, while the "Faithful Article V Commissioner Act" is labeled House Bill 214.
House Bill 214 is 34|Ready model legislation that can be introduced in legislatures in order that they are in a state of readiness for an Article V convention. The legislation was crafted by COSA's legislative, legal, and grassroots experts and subjected to close scrutiny by constitutional attorneys and several state legislators.
The House Judiciary 1 Committee is chaired by Rep. Ted Davis, Jr.
