Draining the swamp is possible, but not from anyone inside the beltway. The Convention of States Project is hosting a press conference in support of Legislative Resolution 6 (LR6) that includes Senator Steve Halloran and Senator Laura Ebke, LR6 Co-sponsors, as well as Convention of States Co-founder, Mark Meckler.

PRESS CONFERENCE: Open to all media on January 9, 2018 at 12 noon in the Capitol Building Rotunda.

The event is free and open to the public; no reservations are needed. All speakers are available for Q&A and interviews following remarks.

LR6 calls for an Article V Convention of States for the purpose of proposing constitutional amendments that limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, impose fiscal restraints, and set term limits for federal official, such as judges.

Article V of the Constitution provides for two different ways to propose amendments to the Constitution. The first way is by the Congress, the second way is for two-thirds of the states (34) to pass a resolution applying for a convention under a specific request; once called, three-fourths of the states must ratify any proposed amendment to the Constitution.

About Convention of States

Twelve states have already passed the identical COS Resolution, since the project launched in 2013: Alaska, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Indiana, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Louisiana, Arizona, North Dakota, Texas, and Missouri. In 2017, a total of 32 states filed our resolution. For more information visit
