There’s an ongoing nationwide movement to call a Convention of States.
Such a convention could initiate constitutional amendments to limit the scope, power, and jurisdiction of the federal government.
It could return the authority back to the states as our Founding Fathers intended.
At the first Constitutional Convention, George Mason insisted on adding the Article V provision to allow for the states to propose amendments because he feared that our federal government might someday get out of control.
His proposal for this constitutional tool allowed for two methods of proposing amendments. It was unanimously accepted by the framers.
Article V gives authority to state legislatures to bypass the federal government by proposing and later ratifying amendments specifically for the purpose of addressing areas where the federal government might refuse to observe its boundaries.
An Article V Convention of States allows the states to fix major problems such as spending, term limits, and federal overreach.
The bar is high — 38 states are required to ratify any proposed amendments coming out of a Convention of States.

Twelve states have already passed their applications and there are more than 24,000 supporters in Virginia.
Please encourage your state senator and delegate to support the Convention of States resolutions.
