Congressional approval ratings lowest in history

Published in Blog on November 19, 2018 by William Collins

Other than the mainstream media Congress has the lowest approval ratings of anyone in the United States.

Jokes about politicians and lawyers run rampant completely immune from the constrictions of political correctness. If one is a politician, you are fair game for every verbal attack imaginable.  Why? Because they are universally hated.

Regardless of these abysmal approval ratings, incumbents are reelected 85% of the time. It is a complete disconnect.  If applied to a hospital or a business, the result would be the opposite. Who would go to a clinic that was right 15% of the time?

But with Congress we keep on sending the same old politicians back to Washington for 40+ years. Why? Because regardless of what we think of Congress as a whole, we love our individual representatives.

Both of the U.S. Senators from my state have local approval ratings of over 80%. But the same senators are hated in most of the country. Conversely the people in my state hate representatives in other states.

Try to imagine a Congress without Nancy Pelosi, Mitch McConnell, Maxine Waters, Diane Feinstein, John Cornyn, and many others that have been in office for over twenty years.

Imagine lobbyists and journalists that have to reestablish connections every two years with new people that have new ideas and outside-the-Beltway allegiances.

Committee chairmanships would go to people based on merit rather than seniority and representatives would pass legislation with the knowledge they will be living under the same regulations and laws as the rest of us in a couple of years.

Is this an impossible dream? Not at all. In fact we are close to accomplishing this quest for term limits and balanced budgets. And those permanent politicians, bureaucrats, and judges can't do a thing about it.

We only need a few more states and this nightmare will finally end.

How? By utilizing the very tools our Founding Fathers provided to rectify this disaster.

Article V of the Constitution was passed unanimously by the Founding Fathers to rein in the tyranny of the federal government and we are close to having it enacted. But we need your help.

Join the millions of Americans that have had enough of permanent politicians and unresponsive government. Click here to sign the petition and join us to enact Article V of the Constitution.
