On October 22 a joint House-Senate hearing was held in the Harrisburg General Assembly building in a hearing room filled to capacity by Convention of States supporters.
The number of people was much larger than could occupy the space, so the hall outside was crammed.
COS President Mark Meckler and State Legislative Director Steve Davies testified on behalf of the resolutions under consideration in both houses. Representative and chief House sponsor Matt Gabler introduced the topic in a thorough and convincing way, as did Senator Kristin Phillips-Hill for the Senate.
The legislators were impressed by the large turnout of supporters and showed increased interest in the subject. They encouraged Mark Meckler and Steve Davies afterwards that the resolutions will have plenty of attention.
We are working hard to make sure they are passed both in the committees and eventually in the two chambers.
