Hawaii Files Application! Please Call House Judiciary Committee Members

We've done it!

The Convention of States Project's application is now officially filed in the Hawaii House of Representatives!  On Friday, March 4th, Representative Bob McDermott filed the COS application in the House seeking an amendment-proposing convention of the states to restore our Republic.

The official House Resolution number is HR27.

In conformity with the resolutions filed in 38 states in 2015 and already passed in 6 states, HR27 sets the agenda of the meeting to consider amendments that..."impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, and limit the terms of office for its officials and for members of Congress."

This begins the process!  This is the first of 3 more emails you'll receive asking for your help to contact state legislators. Please take a moment right now to contact House of Representative members on the Judiciary committee and ask them to support Convention of States resolution HR27 by bringing it to a committee hearing! 

Click on the links below to send and email to the Judiciary Committee members.  Then please call the members to declare your support for HR27.  Please be polite, respectful, and grateful for their service to Hawaii.  Suggested email text is below.

Aloha Representative and JUD Committee Member,

As a resident of Hawaii I want you to know I strongly support the Convention of States effort to rein in the power of the federal government and return that power to the States.  I request you give House Resolution #27 a hearing in the JUD committee and vote to send HR27 to the floor of the House for passage.
