The Challenge Coin
Challenge Coins are uniquely made by various organizations and are given to show respect, honor, and appreciation for services rendered to the organization.
The COS Challenge Coin bears the image of Col. George Mason, the Virginia delegate to the 1787 Convention who is credited with putting Convention of States into Article V of the U.S. Constitution. His words "Amendments therefore will be necessary..." are also enscribed on the coin. The other side includes the COS emblem and the words "All power is vested and consequently derived from the people."
Convention of States minted 300 exclusive Challenge Coins and then destroyed the mold. It is truly an honor to receive one of the COS Challenge Coins.
