COSHI Capitol Surge Campaign Day 2

Published in Uncategorized on February 03, 2023 by Brett Kulbis

Day 2

On Wednesday February 1st, the COSHI team returned for their Capitol Surge campaign. The team met at the State Capitol for the second of six Wednesdays to educate and persuade Hawai'i Legislators and their staff to support our 2023 Convention of States resolution.

From left, back row: Mark White, Brett Kulbis, Jack Van Osdol, Sheryl Bieler, Jim Ray, Rep. Sam Kong, Ijeva Bambridge, (front row, left to right) Donna Van Osdol, Rita Kama-Kimura, Julie Yamato, Alberta Lono & Chanara Richmond.

We were lucky that Rep. Sam Kong, a great supporter and frequent introducer, was walking by and joined our Team photo.

This week committees began conducting hearings on the many bills submitted. This resulted in our team often meeting only with staff members, due to the legislators attending the committee hearings.

Undeterred, team members visited all House and Senate offices dropping off two key handouts: The COS Pocket Guide and a double-sided flyer illustrating the process for calling an Article V convention and our generic COS Model Resolution.

COS handouts provide valuable information for legislators interested in supporting our resolution.

Join us at the Capitol for our next surge day Wednesday February 8th at 1:15pm!

You too can be part of the COS Hawai'i ‘ohana’ by volunteering here, and join them at their next petition signing event the Hawai'i Historic Arms Great Guns gun show on the third weekend in March!
