Cheney replacement obliterates corrupt DOJ, 'this vicious cycle must stop'

Published in Blog on May 18, 2023 by Brianna Kraemer

Bad guys have begun running parts of the government, an FBI whistleblower testified to the House Judiciary Committee.

The whistleblower said the FBI's inappropriate behavior has made it difficult for him to continue to serve the nation and protect the innocent. The hearing gave several former FBI agents the chance to enlighten the nation as to what's going on inside the corroded Department of Justice.

Wyoming Rep. Harriet Hageman, Liz Cheney's replacement, reacted to their opening remarks with a powerful analysis of the corrupted agency. She questioned what occurred to allow for politicization to permeate every facet of the FBI. While there are many reasons, Hageman said the main spark was 9/11 – which an FBI agent previously attested.

"Then FBI Director Robert Muller made the decision to fundamentally change the FBI from a law enforcement body to an intelligence-driven one," she said. "Such a redirection of the very purpose of the FBI resulted in centralizing its power in Washington, D.C."

She said that while 9/11 was a watershed moment for many reasons, our government's response was tragic because authorities found a way to target not the terrorists, but American citizens.

She listed the many ways the DOJ and FBI have exercised illegitimate surveillance authority; from targeting political campaigns and Catholics to creating a Russia narrative hoax and monitoring parents standing up for their children.

"As the DOJ and FBI have become more political, they have amassed more power; and as they have amassed more power, they have become more political. This is a vicious cycle that must be stopped," she declared.

Warning of her candor, Hageman proclaimed that the leadership of the FBI and the DOJ are corrupt, naming Christopher Ray and Merrick Garland specifically.

"They know it, we know it, and the American people know it."

As James Madison warned, we must first enable the government to control the governed, and then we must compel it to control itself. Our government is failing to control itself. If the people don't step up, we're going to lose the greatest Republic that's ever existed in the history of the world.

Convention of States is the solution that will compel our government to control itself. Support the Article V movement by signing the petition below.

Petition your state legislator

Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.

What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.

I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention. You can find a copy of the model resolution and the Article V Pocket Guide (which explains the process and answers many questions) here: https://conventionofstates.com/handbook_pdf

I ask that you support Convention of States and consider becoming a co-sponsor. Please respond to my request by informing the national COS team of your position, or sending them any questions you may have:
