The Kentucky Convention of States team held they first ever Capital Day Event on Tuesday February 14th at the states capital in Frankfort. We were blessed with great weather and had close to 50 supporters and COSA team members who attended. COS President Mark Meckler and Regional Director, Ken Clark were there to kick off a day of very high level meetings. Mark gave an inspiring speech to crowd of supporters and volunteers. Our legislative sponsor for House Joint Resolution 54 (HJR 54), Representative Jim DeCesare stopped by and addressed the audience and assured us his full support.

We had 19 scheduled appointments yesterday! Mark, Ken and KY State Director, Jim Twisdale attended most of them along with COS constituents.
Mark and the KY COS team had meaningful discussions with Senate President Robert Stivers, Governor Matt Bevin and Lt. Governor Jenean Hampton. We were originally scheduled to talk with Governor Bevin for 10 minutes but the meeting lasted for 30 minutes! The appointment with Lt. Governor Hampton lasted over an hour.

Our various meetings with legislators resulted in several commitments to co-sponsor our COS resolution HJR 54.

We had a surprise visit from COS Senior Vice President Jacquie Peterson. She jumped right into the action along with Cliff Wilkin and Monica Sellars and took our energy to the next level helping to hand out over 900 Valentine’s Day cards and brochures.
We are especially grateful to the Sellers family. Monica, her husband Mark and 13 children came a long distance to help and participate.

We also had a surprise visit from COS Social Media superstar Cliff Wilkin who drove in from New York to lend a helping hand. We would like to thank most of all the COSA State Leaders, and Regional and District Captains. Their help and support, in so many ways, made this day possible. Come join our cause to save and restore the U.S. Constitution.
