For the past couple of decades, we've heard this phrase regularly every election cycle. Today, I believe it's actually true.
The November 8 midterm election is a choice between sanity and insanity.
Think back just 10 or 15 years ago.
Did you actually think we would be discussing whether an 8-year old could decide what sex they wanted to be?
Did you actually think our southern border would be wide open with over 2 million illegal aliens crossing into our country each year?
Did you actually think the federal government would mandate each person receive an experimental medication or they could not be privately employed?
Did you actually think the President of the United States would label half the citizens of our republic as enemies of the State?
Well, that is where we are today. This is why the slippery slope argument is discredited by those supporting unlimited government authority. The slippery slope argument is undefeated. Every single item listed above can be directly linked to a seemingly innocuous initial proposal.
Let me ask you a couple other questions. Again, thinking back 10 or 15 years.
Did you actually think we would see 30,000, 40,000, 50,000+ citizens attending political rallies?
Did you actually think we would see so many parents and members of the community attending and participating in school board and city council meetings?
Did you actually think we would see a court case nationalizing the ability of one person to terminate the life of an unborn human being overturned?
We truly live in unprecedented times in that our Constitution has never been under an assault like this. True, the move to erode our constitutional republic has existed since the early 1900s. Up until the last decade this has been a slow, gradual movement. Not any more. No longer are we discussing which public policies are the most prudent. Now, we are debating whether the United States was ever a legitimate country. The principles upon which our country was founded are under attack. This is a massive change in the public debate.
This is why we have to win. I do not mean a particular party necessarily. It is undeniable one party is actively coordinating these attacks against our country. Too often the opposing party has not adequately defended our country either. So, it is up to us. Political parties are steered by and respond to the conviction and will of the people. Political parties are going to fight for themselves, in the end. The Framers told us this. History tells us this.
Political parties are made up of individuals. It will be up to individuals to fight this battle for the soul of our precious republic. This has been a busy time. Many of us have been involved in campaigns as private citizens in addition to continuing our careers and volunteering for the Convention of States Project.
In eight days, the polls will close on this election. If you do not consent to the path our country is being led, you must make your voice heard. Be your own Precinct Captain. Make sure your friends and family who believe in our Founding Principles and our Constitution get to the polls as well. Voting your values is one way to fight for what you believe in. Make sure your voice is heard on November 8.
In liberty,
Brett
