Brett's Blog Archive - July 20, 2020: Unicorns and Runaways

Published in Blog on July 23, 2020 by Bradley Cooper

One of the claims we hear in opposition to following the Framers' instructions and calling an Article V convention of states meeting is that "it cannot be controlled" or that "it will run away." This is demonstrably false based upon math and history. Just like unicorns, it doesn’t exist.

The following is an outstanding explanation of this fallacy by Robert G. Natelson, the leading expert on Article V of the Constitution. Professor Natelson is a long-time advisor for the Convention of States Project.

Professor Natelson began studying the Article V process as a skeptic. As he studied the facts and the history, he came to the same conclusion that the Framers and millions of your friends and neighbors have. The convention of states process is the only solution that is as big as the problems.
