One of the rare privileges we have in America is the ability to elect officials who represent our interests in government. I’ve said several times that elections are important, but they’ve proven to be insufficient in restoring constitutional governance.
That’s why calling the first of many Article V convention of states meetings is critical. That said, the upcoming election is more important than most.
2020 has been a very trying year. We’ve experienced an economic boom, an economic shutdown, civil unrest, another economic boom, lockdowns, and quarantines. Now, we have a Supreme Court vacancy to fill.
This has caused even more turmoil and clearly demonstrates the unconstitutional role the courts have assumed. Democrats in Congress have threatened to conduct another impeachment inquiry if President Trump exercises his constitutional duty. Republicans in Congress are scrambling to formulate a strategy to counter this.
Our republic is on trial. We stand as the jury on November 3.
Voter turnout is higher in a presidential election year, but it only ranges from 50-60% of eligible voters. One would think with a privilege this rare, turnout would be much higher. With some apprehensive to vote in person, absentee voting may be higher than normal. Add in the mail-in voting factor, and it’s hard telling what turnout will be.
