I can think of no better way to wrap up celebrating our nation’s 245th birthday than to read the Declaration of Independence. As you read the text, remember that about one-third of the colonists wanted to go to war for our independence, one-third were happy to remain British subjects, and one-third just wanted to live their lives. It doesn’t take a majority of a population to change the world.
Keep in mind the enormity of this act. By signing the Declaration, our Founding Fathers were committing treason. If caught by the British Regulars, they would have been executed.
God bless our efforts today as we continue the fight to retain our Founding Principles.
