"My father spent his career in the military. This is my service back to our country." -Barney Hite, Regional Coordinator for Convention of States Missouri
Entrepreneur, farmer, patriot and stalwart Convention of States volunteer, Barney Hite believes in the power of constitutional knowledge and positivity.
Currently a Regional Coordinator for the greater Kansas City and Northwestern Missouri areas, he has organized and staffed the COS presence at numerous local gun shows, antique fairs, and fall festivals for the last five years. He also mentors, trains, guides, and supports his District Captains.
“If we don’t do the basic grassroots work in the field to reinforce what our national organization does in the news and media we’ll never be effective,” he said.
This past September Barney’s recruiting efforts at the Liberty Fall Festival in Liberty garnered 50 new COS petition signatures, a number he attributes to growing citizen concern over federal government overreach, wasteful spending, and a noticeable two-tier system of justice.
For Barney, the reason for becoming a COS leader and activist was highly personal: government requirements that affected his small business and the continual gathering of personal information by federal, state, and local agencies.
Personal outreach and interaction are Barney’s forte.
“When I present on the Convention of States solution, I’m knowledgeable,” says Barney. “My presentations are personal. I talk intelligently about our Constitution and its history. I answer directly. And when challenged I provide facts and resources where people can find answers and decide for themselves.”
Have you thought about becoming more engaged in the Convention of States movement? Is it time to exercise your skills and demonstrate your patriotism? The time to act is now!
