The Kentucky Convention of States team is very happy and honored to announce the second annual Capitol Day Event on Wednesday Feb. 7, 2018, at the State Capital Annex in Frankfort.
The day will be used to establish a physical presence in the capitol by meeting with our legislators and asking for their support of our COS resolution.
The resolution (HJR81) is sponsored by Regina Huff of House District 82, which includes Whitley and part of Laurel counties. Also, we are planning to have an outstanding speaker join us for the event.
Article V is the answer for citizens to take an active role in self-governance and returning the power back to their states. This legal, constitutional alternative can help achieve permanent fixes to the federal structure to restore the Constitution and rule of law.
WHAT: Kentucky Convention of States Capital Day
WHEN: Wednesday, Feb. 07, 2018 starting at 9:00am
WHERE: The Capital Annex, Frankfort KY
WHO: YOU and every patriot you can bring!
WHY: To convince our legislators to support the Convention of States Resolution.
An Article V Convention of States provides a means for the people through the states to reassert their rightful place in America’s governing structure and recalibrate the balance of power between the states and federal government.
When called at the request of at least 34 state legislatures, the Convention of States will be limited to proposing constitutional amendments that fall under the COS application. Many well-known Americans also support the convening of a Convention of States including Ben Shapiro, Charlie Kirk, the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, Senator Ron Johnson, Tom Coburn (Senior Advisor to the Convention of States), Jim DeMint (Senior Advisor to the Convention of States), Colonels Allen West and Bill Cowan, Chuck Norris, Mike Huckabee, and many others
