Welcome to COS Maine!
Unelected bureaucrats in Washington, D.C. make sweeping decisions that impact millions of Americans every day. Convention of States (COS) is opposed to this centralized decision-making.
Article V of the U.S. Constitution gives states the power to call a convention to propose amendments. It takes 34 states to call the convention and 38 to ratify any amendments that are proposed. Our convention would only allow the states to discuss amendments that, “limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, impose fiscal restraints, and place term limits on federal officials.”
COS supporters need to contact their State General Assembly members and make their voices heard. Even if you have already reached out, it will help our cause if you repeatedly contact your legislators. Persistency will pay off!
Simply enter your information in the box to contact your state legislator. Legislators act when they hear from their constituents. Our COS Resolution already has momentum, and we need YOU to act to ensure we push the resolution to passage. Your opinion counts!
Passing our COS Resolution will require all of us to work together, urging our legislature to stand up against Washington, D.C. Contact your General Assembly members and urge them to agree to represent your position in support of our COS Resolution.
